Lyrics

Refain
When the kindness and the love of God our Saviour appeared
He saved us by His grace, He saved us by His grace
Not because of good deeds we had done but because of His mercy
He saved us by His grace, He saved us by His grace

Verse 1
Once we also were misled and were disobedient and foolish
Slaves to many lusts and were chained to many pleasures
Our lives were full of evil and we were full of envy
We hated one another (yes, we really did)

Verse 2
By the cleansing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit
Richly poured out on us through Jesus Christ our Saviour
So that being justified by His grace, we might become
His heirs having the hope of life eternally.

Verse 3
Therefore let us now deny all ungodliness and worldly passions
Living upright, godly and sensibly in this world
Looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing
Of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ our Lord

Bridge
Jesus gave Himself for us, to re-deem us from all wickedness
And to purify for Himself, a people that are His very own,
zealous for good works
